Cooking Up Spoopy for Halloween

I share a convergence of some of my favorite things — Halloween, spoopy, making things Quinn will enjoy, learning stuff on guitar, and creating speed art videos. I just watched a speed paint video by Coley this morning. So talented! I marvel.Â
I’m just goofing around here. I have some great interviews coming up! Since they’re not ready, I’m going with whimsy and play.
I wrote a St. Patrick’s Day post a couple/few years back, where I referenced my love of the minor holidays. I didn’t include Halloween, because it’s huge in my mind — my favorite holiday. But I see that it shares the same delightful qualities as those other minor holidays, mainly that it can’t be messed up. There’s no stress to make it extra special, as there might be on a Christmas or New Year’s. It’s just a day, as embellished as one wants to make it, or not — under the weather or well, alone or with friends — the day has a fantastic back drop without urgency to be festive. Of course, that I see Halloween as a season in which it's Everyday also takes the pressure off.Â
I’m slowly savouring this fall’s roll out, finding time of loud leaves and darkening days inspiring. Wishes that you feel it too. And bon appetite!Â
